First Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Shopping Festival Launches

The online shopping festival is a three-week event that will finish on September 22 and spans the Guangdong-Hong Kong- Macao Greater Bay Area to bolster commercial ties.

The festival, which is guided by the Ministry of Commerce, the provincial government of Guangdong, and the liaison offices of the central government in Hong Kong and Macao special administrative region, incorporates more than 298,000 brands and 13 million items from a wide product range. Customers shopping the festival can benefit from discounts and other preferential policies.

The Chinese e-commerce giant Alibaba Group is the main online platform provider for the event. The group offers $3.9M worth of digital coupons to consumers during the festival through its retail platforms Taobao Marketplace and Tmall.

Alibaba Group is joined by Phoenix Television, state-owned 1905.com, and the Guangzhou-based newspaper, Southern Metropolitan Daily to promote the three-week festival.
