The new store, which will open in Hammersmith, West London, on February 24, will be a quarter of the size of a normal Ikea store but will sell 4,000 products.
The outlet, which will be Ikea’s first centrally located store in London will open later next month with a new ‘small store’ format, marking the first time that UK customers will be able to purchase a wide range of Ikea products on the high street. The move comes on the back of Ikea buying the former Topshop flagship on Oxford Street for £378M, with plans to open Ikea Oxford Street already in place for Autumn 2023.
Set across two floors, the shop will focus on home accessories and soft furnishings, while large furniture items will also be on display and can be ordered for home delivery or delivery to close-by collection points.
The store will also feature a Swedish delicatessen serving hot and cold traditional delicacies for dine-in and takeaway. There will be a variety of Ikea’s traditional meatballs including their plant-based balls.
