The hotel, which is located on the hilltop of Taormina in Sicily, Italy, will reopen as San Domenico, Taormina, A Four Seasons Hotel this summer.
For more than a century, San Domenico Palace has welcomed the world’s most illustrious guests – from Oscar Wilde and King Edward VIII to Elizabeth Taylor, Audrey Hepburn and Sophia Loren. Now, as Four Seasons, this iconic hotel begins a new era, delivering the highest standards of personalised service.
The Hotel comprises an ancient Dominican monastery from the 15th century, as well as a Grand Hotel Wing that was added in 1896. The Ancient Convent wing will feature tastefully restored guest rooms that once housed Dominican friars, while the Grand Hotel Wing will offer a range of accommodations -many of which feature stunning terraces with breathtaking sea views and plunge pools.
The Hotel will also boast an infinity pool, and two large cloisters remain exquisitely manicured and carefully restored, seamlessly blending heritage and character. Other amenities include a spa, inspired by the monastic wisdom of herbs and indigenous healing techniques and clear views of the surrounding waters and Mount Etna – a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
