Britain’s first new Frasers department store opens in Wolverhampton on Monday, replacing the venerable Beatties store which closed last year.
Frasers Group which acquired House of Fraser back in 2018 has unveiled its new vision for a ‘department store of the future’ concept. The launch of the 34,000sq ft site, marks a “pivotal moment” in its elevation strategy to enhance the look and feel of its physical portfolio.
The new store will bring together all of retail magnate Mike Ashley’s brands under one roof. Frasers occupies the first and second floors of the 60,000sq ft building, and an interlinked Sports Direct store occupies the ground floor. Designer goods outlet, Flannels also takes up space on the top floor and there is a new gaming area called Belong complete with computer games where guests can compete with one another.
A new luxury bar and restaurant is also included, however this will not open until coronavirus restrictions are lifted this summer.
