Recently conducted research has shown that French Connection has topped the list of the biggest discounters during the lockdown period, along with Sir Philip Green’s Miss Selfridge.
Covering the two-week period from 20 May to 2 June, online sales increased by 20 per cent year-on-year. Since stores were forced to shut due to the coronavirus pandemic in late March, retailers scurried to find ways to drive sales online.
As a result of this, online discounts have soared, with Love The Sales creating a top ten list of the biggest retailer discounters from a score of highest percentage of stock on discount and highest average discount of that stock. French Connection has 90 per cent of all online clothing currently discounted.
The retailer is offering 25 per cent off its SS20 fashion, and new customers who sign up to its newsletter can get 10 per cent off full-price purchases. The average discount on a French Connection Sale product is 52 per cent.
