This remains the case despite the fact the retailer has seen its profits slip recently even though it has seen a slight increase in sales.
For the half-year period to 2 July, the company reported adjusted profit before tax of £45.6M, which was down on the £46.5M it reported in the same period the 12 months before.
Revenues at Wickes has grown by 1.3 per cent to £822.3M against strong-year comparatives, while gross profits slipped ever so slightly by less than a per cent to £292.6M.
