The Texas-based restaurant group is in a 50-store deal which will see them expand throughout the Southeast.

The new 50-store agreement to expand into the South will see the brand enter into a number of new markets in Alabama, North Carolina and Tennessee. The agreement has been struck with Richard Maddox, a QSP multi-brand franchisee, and further locations that will be explored including Florida, Georgia and South Carolina.

All 50 locations will feature a drive-thru, which is a first for the company. The first two of the new Fuzzy’s Taco Shop locations are scheduled to open in the first half of the year in Auburn, Alabama and Albany, Georgia.

Paul Damico, CEO, Fuzzy’s Taco Shop, said: “As we look to add new Fuzzy’s Taco Shop franchisees we are focused on qualified, experienced restaurant operators who can maintain the integrity of the brand. Richard’s experience with fast-casual restaurants and franchised brands makes him exactly the type of franchisee we are looking for.”
