The stores that have been allowed to open during the state of epidemic are a Lidl supermarket, a Dealz discount household goods store and a Hebe drugstore.
The events that had been planned for the official opening ceremony have been put back to a later date, when the centre will be able to open fully.
The shopping centre’s owners, Acteeum and Equilis, have also launched a number of initiatives aimed at supporting local services, action groups and institutions, including the ordering and provision of medical and sanitary supplies necessary to protect against the virus during their daily work. These products are already being supplied to hospitals, police, fire and emergency services. Further support campaigns are planned by the centre.
Galeria Chełm, which has a total area of 17,500sq m, will eventually comprise 55 retail and service units as well as more than 550 parking spaces. The centre is 100 per cent leased and it has been awarded a BREEAM Design Stage certificate with a rating of ‘Very Good’.
