Gap set to roll out warehouse robots, helping to keep up with online demand

Gap Inc. are set to scale up on its picking operation for online orders with a smart robotic solution. The retailer was faced with an unprecedented surge in online orders and significant disruption to the workforce by the global pandemic, thus has added seventy three units to its current fleet of robots.

The specialty apparel retailer has now just over one hundred robots from Kindred installed inside its US Distribution Centers.

“We’re pleased that our partnership with Kindred has grown from a test pilot to a full deployment of their Sort robots across our U.S. network – especially at a time when we’re trying to keep our employees safe. We look forward to working together with Kindred on cutting-edge automation.”Kevin Kuntz, senior VP of global logistics fulfillment at Gap Inc.
