Glossier to Return to Physical Retail

The digital-first beauty brand is set to open its first store in a new brick-and-mortar expansion phase in the Capitol Hill neighbourhood of Seattle.

The beloved beauty brand previously operated two permanent stores, one in New York and one in Los Angeles, which both permanently closed at the beginning of the pandemic. Now, the brand plans to return to the physical retail world with the launch of a new store in Seattle, which will be closely followed by a Los Angeles location in the fall and a London location in winter.

The new Seattle location is four times bigger than the brand’s Seattle pop-up and will be one of the brand’s largest offline experiences to date. The store has been designed by Glossier’s in-house creative team and celebrates the city’s natural landscape and innovative technology. It features a mixture of futuristic and industrial elements. According to the company, the store features ‘rolling moss hills, massive boulders and floral and mushroom details throughout the terrarium-like space.”

The store is expected to perform well, given that in 2019, the brand welcome one million visitors across its retail locations.
