The casual dining chains Gourmet Burger Kitchen (GBK), Ask Italian and Zizzi, have all appointed advisers amid the coronavirus pandemic – after the restaurants have all been severely impacted by the coronavirus outbreak.
Deloitte has been appointed to advise Gourmet Burger Kitchen (GBK) to advise on future options for the business. The burger restaurant chain has been in financial difficulty for several years, and closed 17 of its sites in 2018 as part of a restructuring plan.
The UK Hospitality sector has warned that the industry could lose an eye-watering one million jobs if social distancing measures are extended without receiving any government support. Restaurants, bars and pubs could possibly be among the last businesses to reopen, and are expected to be subject to social distancing rules.
