The discount grocery store retailer has opened its 400th store location in Hailey, Idaho.
The new store, which is located just south of the Sun Valley ski resort and east of Boise, continues Grocery Outlet’s annual new store growth of approximately 10 per cent meaning that the company remains on track to open 36 to 38 new stores this year alone.
Self-proclaimed as ‘the leading extreme-value retailer in the United States’, Grocery Outlet offers a selection of name-brand products at prices 40 per cent to 70 per cent below those of other retailers. In the quarter ended April 3, the brand’s net sales totalled an impressive $752.7M, down just 1 per cent from same period one year ago.
This year, the brand is celebrating both its 75th anniversary and its second anniversary as a public company, having joined Nasdaq under the ticker symbol ‘GO’ on June 20, 2019. The brand, which is based in Emeryville, California, has a number of locations throughout California, Idaho, Nevada, Oregon, Pennsylvania and Washington.
