A pioneering new attraction is set to debut at Six Flags Qiddiya City, a major upcoming theme park in Saudi Arabia.
Three industry leaders – Jora Vision, ETF Ride Systems and Alterface – are working together to create the Enchanted Greenhouse, an interactive dark ride that is expected to set a new standard in themed indoor attractions.
The Enchanted Greenhouse will be a central feature of the park’s “Twilight Gardens”, one of the six meticulously themed lands under development at Six Flags Qiddiya City. The attraction is designed as an abandoned greenhouse, offering a family-friendly experience that blends interactive storytelling with advanced ride technology. Visitors will step into a world where they encounter the mysterious warden, Farasha and uncover the secrets of the greenhouse, all while interacting with the environment in a way that goes beyond traditional shooting-gallery mechanics.
Unlike many interactive attractions that focus primarily on competitive shooting elements, Enchanted Greenhouse offers a more immersive and narrative-driven experience. The ride employs Alterface’s cutting-edge technology to create interactive scenes that are engaging even when the ride’s interactive features are not actively used. This approach ensures that the ride is enjoyable for all guests, regardless of how they choose to engage with the experience. The technology combines various interactive elements, including media content, physical props, Pepper’s Ghost effects and projection mapping, to craft a cohesive and enchanting story.
The development of Six Flags Qiddiya City, including the Enchanted Greenhouse, is part of a larger vision for the Qiddiya district, located on the outskirts of Riyadh. Covering 367sq km, Qiddiya is set to become a major entertainment and tourism hub, with the theme park itself spanning 320,000sq m and featuring 28 rides and attractions across six themed lands. The district is also home to various other attractions, including a £598M waterpark, a motorsports zone, an eco-zone with nature experiences and a residential community featuring world-class golf courses.
