Harmay Debuts New Concept Store in China

The beauty retailer has unveiled their latest store in Xintiandi, Shanghai which has been inspired by the iconic Asian wet-market.

The new store occupies an area of 600sq m and two stories and has been designed by AIM architecture. Customers will find an eclectic mix of goods at the store with everything from beauty products to bananas on display.

Inspired by the local wet markets, the store’s exterior boasts large flip-up windows that create a feeling of open-air to replicate the traditional market. Products inside the store are displayed on ‘product tables’ which again are intended to resemble the market shopping experience. Cages are also utilised to display products and is intended to throw customers off familiarity and comfort.

As with all Harmay locations, the second floor houses storage and functions as a brick-and-mortar shop and an e-commerce fulfilment site.
