After closing its doors in March as a result of the UK lockdown, the department store in Birmingham’s Mailbox Shopping Centre is finally reopening.
Harvey Nichols, like a number of other big retailers across the UK, decided to keep a number of their locations closed despite the governments easing of lockdown and the reopening of non-essential retail. Footfall generally has been much lower in the brands wider business since reopening and after careful monitoring, the Mailbox location will now finally reopen, a positive sign for Birmingham’s retail sector.
Manju Malhotra, Harvey Nichols COO, commented: “Together with our team members, I am very much looking forward to our stores re-opening and welcoming our customers back to Harvey Nichols. Whilst we will be fully adhering to new health and safety measures to protect both customers and staff, we will be focusing on what we do best, which is providing a high level of personal service and an exceptional shopping experience, within a safe and comfortable environment.”
The store is expected to benefit from the UK’s half-term holiday and customers starting their holiday shopping.
