The Parisian luxury brand has opened its first site in the state of Michigan at the Somerset Collection mall.
Situated in the northern suburb in Metro Detroit, the new store’s offering covers all of the brand’s product lines, including men’s and women’s ready-to-wear and footwear accessories, fragrance, beauty, leather good and equestrian products.
Designed by Parisian architecture firm RDAI, the store seeks to pay homage to the lakes, forests and rock formations of the American Midwest and spotlights a number of local materials in its design.
Shoppers are greeted by a polished Saint Clair limestone façade, featuring a subtle chevron pattern reminiscent of a bird feather. Upon entering the store, visitors discover a tall wooden structure displaying the brand’s colourful silk and jewellery, behind which three walls of granite create individual spaces dedicated to Hermès’ other métiers.
“We are delighted with this opening in a new state, Michigan,” said Hermès USA President Robert B. Chavez in a release. “It’s an honour to open in Troy, in the Somerset Collection mall, and share the culture and savoir-faire of the house with a region that symbolises the ingenuity and industry of the American people.”
