The iconic US hotelier has announced plans to open more than 40 new properties across the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
The Hilton group, which has a regional office in Jeddah, boasts 18 brands across 119 countries. The Middle East has 61 Hilton hotels with a further 85 currently in the pipeline, 41 of which will open in Saudi Arabia over the next three years.
Jochem-Jan Sleiffer, President of Hilton Middle East, Africa and Turkey, commented: “Saudi Arabia is an important market for us. We’re trying to expand all of our different brands as much as we can in the right cities. If I look at Saudi Arabia, at all the cities, every country should at least have a Hampton or Garden Inn.”
Of the 41 proposed properties, the majority will be upscale whilst others will cater to the mid-market segment. Sleiffer also explained that the group intends to expand the Hilton name to the Kingdom’s new gigaprojects, such as NEOM and the Red Sea Project.
