H&M to Launch Resell Platform in Canada

The Swedish retail giant will launch its own second-hand fashion platform in Canada next month, as it continues to invest in the resell market.

The new platform, called H&M Rewear has been described as a one-stop digital customer to customer resell destination. The platform is powered by Reflaunt, a London-based Resale-as-a-Service technology company.

The launch means that Canadian customers will now be able to buy and sell pre-loved fashion items, and unlike many other brand-dedicated platforms, users can sell and piece of clothing from any brand, not just H&M products. According to Frederic Tavoukdijian, Country Manager of H&M Canada, it is important to be inclusive of all brands.

“We want to provide a destination for Canadians to become active participants in circularity and find new homes for garments from any brand in their closet,” Tavoukdijian said in a release. “As this is a Canadian initiative, H&M Canada will be the first market to launch Rewear.”
