Holland & Barrett is the latest brand to join the line-up one of the UK’s largest shopping parks after signing a six-year lease for a 3,194 sq ft unit at 684,000 sq ft Castlepoint, with plans to open in March.
Castlepoint is on an upward trajectory with the commencement of a new asset management strategy to enhance the tenant mix and maximise the park’s potential, devised by the new JV owners, funds of Columbia Threadneedle Investments and Delancey.
The arrival of Holland & Barrett follows news that UK outdoor retailer, Mountain Warehouse committed to the park in the longer term, upsizing to a new 12,000 sq ft unit at Castlepoint. A further unit is under offer while significant interest has been expressed in another two stores.
Castlepoint continues to perform strongly, offering a range of brands like Boots, H&M, JD Sports and TK Maxx as well anchor tenants Marks & Spencer, Sainsbury’s, Asda, B&Q and Next. With just 2.34% vacancy and continued consistent trading performance reported by occupiers, the joint owners are considering longer term investment opportunities to enhance the customer experience of Castlepoint, which provides one of the greatest concentrations of retail brands on the South Coast.
Holland & Barrett will offer an extensive range of products and services at their new store, including lines across beauty, food, vitamins, minerals and supplements and sports nutrition. As one of the retailer’s largest category outlets, there will also be an increased range across CBD based products; their sleep and calm range; skin, hair and nails; children’s health and healthy snacking as well as a consultation room, allowing customers to speak with a qualified-to-advise associate, making it easier than ever for customers to take positive control of their wellness.
A Spokesperson for Holland & Barrett said: “We are delighted to be joining the line up at Castlepoint; offering the perfect catchment as well as two supermarkets and a strong line up of tenants to help drive regular footfall, we are confident in our decision to invest here. We have a number of exciting store openings looking ahead to 2023 and, while historically we have targeted high street locations, out-of-town retail destinations present the perfect area for growth.”
Kannika Mall, commenting on behalf of the joint venture owners of Castlepoint added “It’s great to be kicking off the new year with an exciting announcement as we continue to attract significant interest from a range of retail and leisure operators. We are seeing customers from wider communities willing to travel to access sites like Castlepoint, which allows operators to offer their full ranges, prompting interest from international and more varied retailers. With this in mind, we look forward to further exciting opportunities in 2023.
