London is home to some of the best places to eat in the world, and the capital’s biggest food, events and culture venue BOXPARK Croydon, offers almost every cuisine imaginable under one roof.
BOXPARK has entered the New Year with a bang as it welcomes a brand new barbecue meat restaurant to its South London spot. From successful street-food venture to fully-fledged restaurant, HotBox is opening its first restaurant since the business was sold in March 2022 to financier Adhum Carter.
Open now, HotBox is serving up delectably seasoned smoked meats using a combination of kiln-dried Hickory and Oak in its 1-tonne Rotisserie Smokers. Foodies can find a range of mouth-watering dishes on the menu from the HotBox Bandit Burger with brisket, chimichurri, chipotle aioli and aged beef patties. Other delicious dishes include the succulent, fall off-the-bone beef short ribs and sticky pork ribs.
HotBox is a modern smokehouse, taking inspiration from ancient cooking techniques to create exciting and vibrant plates of food. Its menu showcases a true mastery of the smoking and barbecue process, with an emphasis on creativity and introducing new flavour profiles.
Their kitchen is equipped with a 1-tonne smoker, serving up dishes such as smoked pepper cured Hereford short rib with bbq glaze and kimchi slaw and their incredible smoked selection, which includes smoked brisket, scotch bonnet pork ribs, jalapeño chicken, Korean-glazed pork belly and spicy hotlink sausage all served with house pickles and smoke drip BBQ sauce.
HotBox’s culinary journey started as nomadic traders in the vibrant street food scene of East London. With residencies at Street Feast’s Dalston Yard, Battersea Park, Dinerama, Hawker House and Lewisham’s Model Market. Its latest venture at BOXPARK Croydon is the brand’s first sit-down restaurant where they’ll host events such as bottomless brunches, DJs and more.
