Hotel Okura Shanghai Sheshan, which will be located in Sheshan, a scenic forested mountainous area bordering the city of Shanghai, will open in 2024.
The new Hotel Okura Shanghai Sheshan will span two storeys and built on an expansive 40,000sq m site. Designed to blend in with the surrounding landscape, it will offer around 280 guest rooms each with a standard area of around 50sq m. Meanwhile, a variety of restaurants will offer Japanese cuisine, all-day dining and Chinese cuisine; and other amenities include a banquet hall and multi-purpose meeting rooms, fitness and spa facility, an indoor pool and a lobby lounge.
Toshihiro Ogita, President, Hotel Okura Co., Ltd., commented, “We are very pleased to be opening a new property in Sheshan, the closest resort area to Shanghai. We will welcome our guests there with the spirit of Japanese hospitality and provide them with a relaxing resort stay.”
The area surrounding the hotel is known as the birthplace of much of Shanghai’s history and culture, therefore giving guests the perfect opportunity to immerse themselves in a rich natural environment. Other destinations close to the hotel include the National Shrine and Minor Basilica of Our Lady of Sheshan, the Shanghai Astronomy Museum and the Sheshan Dinosaur Park.
