The Outlet store at the Montreal Premium Outlets has shuttered after nearly seven years of operation.

The outlet store opened its doors to customers in 2014 and boasted an area of 27,000sq ft in the outdoor outlet centre. This store was one of just two off-price outlet store locations for the Hudson’s Bay Outlet concept. The other was opened at Toronto Premium Outlets in 2013. This however was converted to off-price retailer Saks OFF 5th in 2016.

Following this, Saks OFF 5th was also supposed to replace the Hudson’s Bay Outlet store at Montreal Premium Outlets in 2016 however this never came to fruition. Liquidator Continental is currently occupying the former Hudson’s Bay Outlet space at Montreal Premium Outlets.

As ever and despite the global pandemic, competition remains fierce for the off-price retail segment in Canada with key players such as TJX banners, Winners, Marshalls and HomeSense continuously opening stores. Nordstrom Rack now operates seven stores across Canada with more expected to open in the near future.
