The new outlet, called Uncommon Store is a product of a partnership between Hyundai Group and Amazon Web Service (AWS).
Located on the sixth floor of the newly-opened ‘The Hyundai Seoul’ shopping complex in South Korea, the new, unmanned Uncommon Store presents a futuristic shopping concept underpinned by a number of technologies. A selection of these technologies include AI complex sensors, a cloud system and internet hyper-connections. Each of these technologies are implemented to enhance the customer experience.
Customers wanting to shop at the store need to download the app to their phone to scan at the entrance barrier of the store. No cash or payments cards are accepted at Uncommon Store and customers must pay for their purchases by scanning QR codes.
The new 33sq m store has been designed by local architecture studio Atelier Archi@Mosphere and features orange and silver colours. Lighting is carefully utilised throughout the store to further enhance the futuristic space.
