The brand is set to open a new Ikea Planning Studio within Catalonia. Occupying a space of more than 540sq m, the new opening reflects the brand’s commitment to the Spanish market.
Following the opening, Ikea will have 15 locations across Catalonia including three traditional large stores in Badalona, L’Hospitalet and Sabadell; two Ikea Designs; seven merchandise delivery points across four provinces, a pop-up location in La Maquinista and two Ikea Planning Studios.
The Ikea Planning Studio is an innovative and unique concept which has performed successfully in key cities such as New York, London, Stockholm and Copenhagen. The space will offer personalised advice for the design of modular kitchens and wardrobes and will also have dedicated spaces for exhibits and sales.
Petra Axdorff, Chief Executive Officer of Ikea Spain, commented: “We have a great concern to be more accessible and affordable to all consumers, who increasingly demand smaller spaces and more personalised attention. Spain is a key and strategic market for Ikea. Taking into account the current context of commerce and the conditions to which we must respond, offering increasingly diverse and dispersed formats can be of great value for the consumer and for business.”
