Ikea is moving ahead in Colombia and is opening the doors of its third store in the country. After Bogotá and Cali, the brand is now settling in Medellín, the second largest and most economically affluent city in the country.

The multinational’s new store covers an area of 18,000sq m and is located in the heart of the Envigado municipality. “With the opening, we reaffirm our commitment to the region, allowing us to reach more and more homes with our offer of affordable and sustainable design solutions. In addition, it allows us to contribute to local development with the creation of more than 300 new jobs,” it continued.

With this new opening, Ikea now has five stores in South America, three in Colombia and two in Chile, totalling 99,500sq m of built space in the region and 54,100sq m of sales space.
