The new store spans over 31,000sq m which consists of a 22,000sq m shopping area housing around 9,500 products.
Located in Ljubljana, Slovenia the Swedish furniture giant Ikea had initially planned to open the store at the end of 2020, however this was pushed back due to the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic and its lasting impacts.
In the weeks following the initial opening, shoppers will be requested to register online to visit the store as the number of visitors is capped at 700 with Ikea estimating that they will spend around two hours on average browsing. The store is complete with Ikea’s typical offering and items that reflect the new stores local environment.
The brand’s online shop will also open today; purchases can be picked up or delivered in Ljubljana and Maribor. As of yet, due to the current Covid restrictions, the Ikea restaurant is not permitted to open, however a take away option is available.
