The store has opened in the Open Kennedy complex, Chile and has also launched its e-commerce platform in the South American country.
The move comes as the Swedish furniture giant is accelerating its expansion in Latin America. It has opened two store locations in Mexico and this, their first store in Chile situated in Santiago, marking the brand’s debut in South America.
“This is a historic and special day for us, I am grateful for all the hard work and effort of all the people involved in making this happen. Ikea’s vision is to create a better everyday life for many people and with the opening of the first store, along with the possibility of buying online and local collection points, we are honouring that vision in Chile”, says Jon Abrahamsson-Ring, CEO of the Inter Ikea Group.
A second store will soon open in Santiago de Chile inside Mallplaza Oeste in Cerrillos with Colombia and Peru spearheaded as the next markets to open in.
