The iconic furniture brand is now preparing to open a store in Almeria that boasts its ‘Store XS’ format, which has already been implemented in Parque Corredor, Madrid.
The store will be situated in the upper area of Rambla Belen, close to the roundabout where it links to the Mediterranean motorway. The Almeria City Council has given the green light for the works to begin and the project will involve an investment of nearly €20M and will generate more than 200 new direct jobs.
The new location will feature three storeys – one basement and two above ground – and boasts an area of 25,000sq m and more than 300 parking spaces.
Elsewhere, in February Ikea applied for a building permit to resume the construction of its fifth store in Andalusia. The opening is scheduled for summer 2023, and with an investment of €45.3M, the location is estimated to create 200 direct jobs.
