Another day, another drive-in cinema has opened. The first article regarding a drive-in cinema was VOX Cinemas to launch at Mall of The Emirates (https://www.rli.uk.com/vox-cinemas-launch-drive-in-experience-at-mall-of-the-emirates/). Now it seems that Germany has latched onto the idea.
The Blautal-Center Ulm has opened the highest drive-in cinema in Germany, on the building’s parking deck. The premiere was a sell out and the attendance was seven hundred spectators, comprising of two hundred and ten cars.
“As center manager, it is up to us to think outside the box in these challenging times and support both tenants and owners. We are expecting 300-600 additional visitors at the Blautal-Center through the evening performances alone – this means, in addition to the more efficient usage of the parking deck, further synergies benefitting other tenants”, explains Lars Jähnichen, Managing Director of IPH Centermanagement.
