‘Love Lockdown’ as pregnancy test sales surge since lockdown

The discount retailer, Poundland has seen a huge surge in sales of its £1 pregnancy tests since the UK lockdown that was announced by the government on March 24.

Poundland has kept most of its stores open to sell essential items and has said that sales of the kits have gone up by twenty five per cent since the measures were introduced at the end of March. Sales have increased all over the UK, however honourable mentions include Sutton Coldfield in the West Midlands and Slough.

‘Couples under the same roof don’t need to worry about social distancing and they’ve been getting up close and comfortable, as our sales figures show. Based on our sales, Britain should be preparing for a baby boom as couples found more entertaining ways to relax than watching box sets or doing jigsaws.‘
