Jigsaw Sales Plunge

The British retailer has revealed that it lost around £31M in sales as Coronavirus related lockdowns continue to plague the fashion industry.

According to a filing at Companies House, around 60 per cent of Jigsaw’s sales were generated through its online channels last year, as the company looked to implement a digital-first strategy due to its store being closed at various points last year.

The news comes following a report of higher sales during the last year, which ended February 1, 2020. However this period covered 70 weeks rather than the usual 52 due to a change of ownership where Best Dressed Group became majority stakeholder.

In the current year Jigsaw, like many, has expected the disruption to their sales, however the brand remains optimistic as it has completed its restructuring and CVA, ensuring that the retailer is in the strongest possible position to tackle the turbulent industry.
