The British department store chain has decided to discontinue its international delivery services.
John Lewis is one of the many UK businesses that have decided to stop international delivery. Until December 2020, the company offered EU delivery through its website, however this service has now been withdrawn. The company comments that this move is not related to Brexit, but instead a result of a new strategy to focus their efforts on the UK market amid the Coronavirus pandemic, which has significantly impacted trading.
The company stated: “As part of our Partnership Plan for the next two years, we have decided to focus on areas of the business that will deliver products and services for our local UK customers. As such, we are no longer pursuing international expansion and decided to cease our online international delivery service.”
Along with John Lewis, companies such as Asos, Fortnum & Mason and Debenhams have also temporarily ceased EU deliveries.
