The supermarket chain from the Netherlands, Jumbo, is expanding its presence in Belgium with the addition of three more stores.
With the addition of these new locations, it will take Jumbo’s store count to 11, which will include a first in the coastal province West-Flanders.
A press release by the company announced three new store openings for Jumbo in Belgium: two in the north-eastern province of Limburg (Zonhoven on 30 June and Heusden-Zolder on 14 July), with in between them a first store in West-Flanders (Zedelgem on 7 July). This would lift Jumbo’s total to eleven Belgian stores, and the retailer confirms its earlier ambition to have a hundred stores in Belgium in the long run.
Managing Director Peter Isaac says he is confident that his chain’s stores and concept are a success with Belgians. “We want to expand to 100 stores and therefore we are looking for suitable locations and employees in the whole of Flanders.”
