JW Anderson Takes First Steps in UAE

Setting foot in the United Arab Emirates for the first time, JW Anderson has opened a pop-up shop inside the Dubai branch of Bloomingdale’s.

Showcasing the Pol Anglada collection until 20 February, the menswear pop-up is an immersive installation that takes in ready-to-wear, bags and accessories. The store also features digitally-printed colour pencil illustrations of rugby players, drawn by artist Pol Anglada in a second collaboration with the brand.

In terms of design, the store features black and white tiled walls and pillars that have been implemented to ‘evoke the interior of a traditional British ruby club locker room and also complement Bloomingdale’s signature checked colour palette.’ Meanwhile, two JW Anderson neon signs stand on pillars in a nod to the most distinctive element of the brand’s shopfront at its flagship boutique in Soho, London.

Inside, three mannequins are stationed as if exhausted from an energetic rugby match, with shirts askew and socks wrinkled.
