Finding the Sweet Spot

The Kayanee brand was envisioned by Princess Reema bint Bandar Al Saud as a holistic wellness lifestyle brand that addresses the multifaceted needs of women in Saudi Arabia. In this interview, RLI meets up with company CEO Vikram Natarajan to learn more about the company whose mission it is to inspire and enable the balanced fitness of all women.
Her initiative was born from a desire to redefine women’s well-being by creating an integrated solution that blends fitness, fashion, nutrition, wellness and education. This vision aligns closely with the Saudi Vision 2030, which emphasises enhancing the quality of life, promoting vibrant societies and increasing women’s participation in public and private life.
Kayanee differentiates itself as a comprehensive, culturally relevant wellness brand exclusively designed for women in Saudi Arabia. Within its integrated pillars of Move, Wear and Learn, the business offers a 360-degree approach to well-being. Women can access fitness programs, stylish activewear, personal care and educational tools all in one place.
As a PIF-backed initiative, the company also benefits from leveraging advanced technology and access to global best practices and experts to create a best-in-class concept. This focus on promoting balanced lifestyles and well-being set Kayanee apart regionally and globally as a concept that is aligned with women’s evolving needs and with PIF’s backing, they are looking to capitalise on this amazing opportunity.
“Our long-term vision is to become a global leader in women’s wellness, having originated in Saudi Arabia we want to expand around the world,” highlights Vikram Natarajan, CEO of Kayanee. “By addressing mental, physical and social health, we aim to set new benchmarks in wellness and fitness. Our tech-driven approach and culturally relevant services position the brand as a transformative force in the industry. Additionally, plans for expansion within the GCC and globally reflect our core ambition to shape the future of women’s wellness.”

Since inception, the company’s integrated model has been widely celebrated for its ability to redefine women’s health in Saudi Arabia. By blending fitness, wellness and fashion, Kayanee creates a unique ecosystem that caters to the holistic needs of women. They have found that the brand resonates deeply with their target audience by offering programs like Kayanee Dance Fitness, which combines Arabic rhythms with modern movement techniques to create a culturally significant and enjoyable fitness experience. Meanwhile within their activewear, sportswear and fashion collections, women have appreciated the approach to layering, wearing their apparel for fitness, travel and for use in and out of the gym.
Their emphasis on cultural relevance and inclusivity further reinforces their growing position as a trusted and innovative wellness destination for women in Saudi Arabia.
One element that plays a pivotal role in enhancing the customer experience at Kayanee by bridging the digital and physical worlds is technology.
“The brand’s alignment with Vision 2030 and its dedication to inspiring women and fostering community has helped establish trust and credibility in the market, making Kayanee a trusted name in wellness.”
“As an example, we employed cutting-edge body-scanning technology in our apparel line to develop sizing that reflects the region for a perfect fit. Additionally, our store in the Diplomatic Quarter features an in-store body-scanning machine, allowing women to discover their exact size with precision and ease,” comments Natarajan.
“As we remain committed to innovation, we are actively investing in advanced technologies to elevate our offerings further, reinforcing our vision of becoming leaders in tech-driven wellness solutions for women.”
At Kayanee, community is at the heart of their mission and it embodies their commitment to inspiring women to prioritise their well-being, connect with one another and truly “Move and Be Moved”.
They create chances for women to come together, share experiences and grow through programs and spaces designed to foster a sense of belonging. Looking ahead, they are excited to further strengthen this sense of community with new workshops, events and partnerships that deepen connections and enrich women’s lives, building an even stronger company community.

Another concept that is central to their operations is that of sustainability, which reflects their goal of creating a meaningful, positive impact on the planet with transparency as their main approach. They work closely with their suppliers to ensure full traceability of raw materials, ingredients and manufacturing processes.
Natarajan highlights that their sustainability efforts are guided by five core pillars. These are creating cradle-to-cradle product designs, minimising packaging, conserving water resources, using sustainable materials and promoting a “buy better, buy less” philosophy. It is these initiatives he says that drive their commitment to offering responsible, impactful products while contributing to a healthier planet for future generations.
Creating an all-in-one wellness destination like Kayanee has not come without its challenges and the integration of multiple services into a seamless and cohesive customer experience has been a major one according to the CEO. In addition, launching a diverse range of products under their own brand, presented both an opportunity and a challenge as they designed them to align with their vision of creating impactful and meaningful wellness solutions.

“We have overcome these challenges by adopting a customer-first approach and streamlining our services to ensure they are accessible and impactful. The brand’s alignment with Vision 2030 and its dedication to inspiring women and fostering community has helped establish trust and credibility in the market, making Kayanee a trusted name in wellness.”
In the coming months the business will expand its fitness programs with new offerings, including yoga, pilates and specialised classes, the wear pillar will see the launch of new seasonal collections featuring innovative materials for enhanced comfort and performance and under its learn pillar, new programs will soon be introduced that will provide women with enriching educational resources and workshops on health, nutrition and overall wellness.
Aiming for significant expansion in the coming years, 2025 will see the opening of additional branches within Saudi Arabia, including a flagship location at Solitaire, Riyadh’s premier multi-use lifestyle destination. Meanwhile regionally, there are plans to roll out its e-commerce platform in the near future, allowing women across the GCC and beyond to engage with Kayanee’s offerings.
“Markets with a strong wellness culture, such as the UAE, represent exciting growth opportunities and these expansion plans mark a significant step forward in Kayanee’s mission to bring holistic wellness to women worldwide,” concludes Natarajan.
