In partnership with ClusterTruck, the supermarket giant will offer a variety of freshly prepared meals available on-demand.
Ghost kitchens are growing ever-more popular in the food and beverage sector as customers continue to enjoy the on-demand delivery aspect that these locations offer. The ghost kitchen is a kitchen or cooking space where food is prepared exclusively for delivery.
The first Kroger ghost kitchen will be located in a store in Fishers, Indiana and will occupy an area of 1000sq ft. Customers can order from a menu that offers more than 80 freshly-cooked meals and orders can be placed online or at one of the in-store kiosks.
“Kroger remains focused on providing our customers with fresh food and experiences enabled by industry-leading insights and transformative technology. The new on premise kitchen, in partnership with ClusterTruck, is an innovation that streamlines ordering, preparation and delivery, supporting Kroger as we meet the sustained customer demand for quick, fresh restaurant-quality meals, especially as we navigate an unprecedented health crisis that has affected every aspect of our lives, including mealtime,” commented Dan De La Rosa, Kroger’s Group VP of Fresh Merchandising.
