The upscale New York City-based women’s fashion brand will open its first standalone store in Canada this year on Toronto’s Bloor Street luxury run.
The store will feature the brand’s range of women’s ready-to-wear as well as footwear, bags, jewellery and accessories. Construction has already begun on the 2,000sq ft space, which is situated between a St. John Knits store and a Burberry store.
The brand was founded in 1996 by Deirdre Quinn, Shun Yen Sui and Ida Siu, and is named after its founding address in Manhattan’s SoHo neighbourhood. The brand is known for its craftsmanship and clean professional wear and sportswear which also incorporate modern New York sensibility.
Lafayette 148 uses only the finest fabrics including cashmere from Loro Piana, printed silks from Como, Italy, cotton from Reggiani, shearling from Spain and classis wool from Botto Giuseppe.
