The new 250sq m store, which will open in the coming months, will be located at Canberra Central.
The Lego group already has a number of certified stores located in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Auckland, New York, London, Shanghai, Denmark and Dubai.
The new store will feature a large, wall mounted mosaic of a local landmark along with the standard pick-a-brick wall and build-a-minifigure tower. The pick-a-brick wall allows customers to fill up their cup with their choice of Lego bricks and elements. There will also be a Digital Box where customers can scan almost any Lego boxed set and watch it come to life in 3D via a wall-mounted screen.
Alquemie Group, Executive Chairman, Richard Facioni, commented: “With one of the most loyal and growing communities of bricks fan in the country, Canberra has been on our radar for some time as an ideal venue for a new Lego certified store. We look forward to proudly unveiled an inspiring new retail experience for Canberra which showcases the creative potential of the world-famous Lego brick.”
