Upon opening, the theme park will be the largest Legoland Park ever developed by Merlin Entertainments.
Legoland New York will occupy an area of 150-acres and will be the first major theme park to open in within the region for over 40 years. Construction is in its final stages and the park is ready for its grand opening in 2021. The theme park boasts seven zones and more than 50 rides, shows and attractions alongside the 250-room Legoland Hotel.
The grand opening is now set to go ahead as planned following Gov. Andrew Cuomo’s announcement that amusement parks in New York will be able to reopen this spring.
Divisional Director, Legoland New York Resort, Stephanie Johnson, commented: “We are thrilled with Gov. Cuomo’s announcement for the reopening of family attractions, including outdoor theme parks. This means Legoland New York Resort will be able to celebrate its grand opening this season as planned, and we look forward to sharing more details soon.”
