The three new stores, located in Cheetham Hill, Bolton and Glossop will all begin trading on Thursday February 25.
The store openings form a part of the grocery retailer’s £1.3bn expansion programme, which will see them open a number of new stores across Great Britain in 2021 and 2022. The stores will create around 120 jobs for the region.
The company has commented that the stores will donate any surplus food and customer’s donations to local charities – Manchester Young Community Champions, Believe & Achieve C.I.C, Farnworth & Kearsley Events Team and Lagan’s Foundation.
Nick Harvey, Lidl’s GB Regional Head of Property, commented: “It is fantastic that at this time we are able to continue our investment in Greater Manchester and enable even more of the local community access to our high quality and affordable produce. I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who has played a part in delivering these stores. It is great for us to be able to create more jobs for these areas, and support so many fantastic charities at this time.”
