Local Mamsha Opens on Saadiyat Beach

The barber and coffee shop is home to brands including Oka Ceramics, The Provider Store, Kinto Japan, Grown Alchemist and Salt & Stone.

Following on from the huge success of their first location, the second store at Saadiyat Island incorporates a homeware and fashion element alongside barber and beverage services. The store sells a number of t-shirts, slides and shades interspersed with coffee pots, cups and strainers. A number of haircare products as well as candles are also available.

The interior boasts a slick design created by Jade Daniel and Ghalia Korban from Shell & Core in Abu Dhabi and features contrasting tactile elements such as warm wood and cold concrete, cacti plants and palm trees. The barber element remains the focal point of the space and takes the form of a faux greenhouse.

Jackson Brett, who is one of the co-founders alongside brothers Jasim and Zayed Al Khouri, commented: “As we started getting older and maturing, our style evolved. Similar to when we opened the first Local, we found it hard to get certain products and brands here. We really just stock the stuff we like and want to have or use ourselves.”
