Lockdown Relaxation Dates Announced for Northern Ireland

Northern Ireland has confirmed that non-essential retail can finally reopen their doors to customers from April 30.

Following a lengthy discussion yesterday afternoon, ministers in Northern Ireland have finally brought forward a series of reopening dates that had previously only been considered. Three key relaxation dates have been announced for Northern Ireland, April 23, April 30 and May 24.

The plan will see close contact services, hairdressers and beauty salons reopen to customers on April 23, while other non-essential retail can reopen on April 30. Gyms will also be able to reopen from April 30 and restaurants, cafes and pubs can serve customers in outdoor settings for groups of six people. April 30 will also see curfews on takeaways and off-licences removed.

Further on, on May 24, restaurants, cafes and pubs will be able to begin serving customers indoors again, however this will remain subject to review in May.
