Spanish high-end clothing and accessories brand Loewe opened its first Casa Loewe store in Portugal on 25 November.
The 400sq m store is located on the ground floor of a historic building on Avenida da Liberdade, the luxury shopping destination of the Portuguese capital Lisbon. The exterior of the boutique, with its original facade and stone windows, has been restored and features a 75sq m terrace. It sells the entire range of prêt-à-porter for men and women of the brand, as well as bags, small leather goods, other accessories including scarves and shawls, glasses and jewellery.
The design concept of the Lisbon store, studied by the creative director of the brand, the Irish designer Jonathan Anderson, uses materials, such as brass and concrete, which create a sharp contrast with the central pillars, covered with ceramic tiles in the concave shape of a small Portuguese company, Viúva Lamego, whose history dates back to 1849.
Meanwhile, Loewe has also reopened the Parisian flagship on avenue Montaigne, a thoroughfare considered one of the most desirable locations in the Ville Lumière and a global fashion destination.
For the restyling of the 211sq m store, which expands upwards to create a double-height ceiling, Loewe decided to take a neutral and clean approach. The black facade lends a bold and chic character to the large entrance, while the interior is flooded with natural light and furnished with intimate spaces almost everywhere. Wood, rock and metal craftsmen from around the world were involved in the project, key elements of which include concrete floors and walls alongside the handcrafted ceiling maple beams.
