The brand will close all 38 of its stores following filing for bankruptcy in August.
Lord & Taylor, which opened its first store in New York in 1826, has been one of Americas longest standing luxury department stores. Unfortunately, it is one of several department stores that have felt the ongoing impact of the coronavirus pandemic and despite various efforts, Lord & Taylor has officially announced it will be going out of business.
The brand has initiated their final sales which will be available across its store fleet including some of its most popular locations in Manhasset, Eastchester, Stamford, Westfield and Chevy Chase as well as online.
In a statement, the company reported: “While we are still entertaining various opportunities, we believe it is prudent to simultaneously put the remained of the stores into liquidation to maximise value of inventory for the estate while pursuing options for the Company’s brands.”
