Lotte Opens Tiffany & Co Boutique at Kansai Airport

Lotte Duty Free has restarted its international expansion project with the opening of a new Tiffany & Co boutique at Kansai International Airport in Japan.

The 90sq m store, located in the Departures Hall, is the first duty-free Tiffany store since the brand was acquired by LVMH and reflects the luxury giant’s new design concept for the jewellery brand. The interior is modelled on the iconic Tiffany flagship on New York’s Fifth Avenue and features artwork by designer Jean Schlumberger. The newly-renovated outlet features a wide range of Tiffany products, including the brand’s new Tiffany T1 collection.

With this opening, Lotte now operates six dedicated brand boutiques at Kansai Airport, where it first entered the Japanese duty free market in 2014. Tiffany joins Bulgari, Bottega Veneta and Gucci in the retailer’s offer at the airport.

Lotte Duty Free Head of Global Business Lee Jong-hwan said: “We believe that the opening of tiffany boutique stores will strengthen our position in the Kansai regional duty-free market.”

Strengthening its presence outside of its native South Korea was a key focus for Lotte prior to the Covid-19 pandemic. Now, the company says it is once again shifting its focus to international markets, ahead of an expected surge in demand for international tourism. Alongside the new Tiffany boutique, the retailer is looking to open restaurants in Vietnam and Australia, in line with restrictions and traveller trends.
