The brand’s travelling immersive exhibition, called See LV, has opened today in front of The Dubai Mall.
Now open to the public, the temporary show is housed in a purpose-build space that is suspended on the water next to the Dubai Fountain. Running until March 7, this is the third stop for See LV, after its debut in Wuhan, China in 2020, and a run in Hangzhou in 2021. The show interweaves objects from the maison’s archives with a number of recent creations, allowing visitors to delve in the universe of Louis Vuitton.
Upon entering the experience, visitors are greeted by a portrait of a young Louis Vuitton, conceived by artist Refik Anadol using AI. Following this, a showcase of men’s and women’s ready-to-wear pieces are displayed, starting with a multi-hued straight-cut dress and square pillow high boots by Nicolas Ghesquiere, created for the brand’s autumn/winter 2021 collection.
Among the highlights of this section of the exhibition is a dress created by Charles Frederick Worth dating back to 1893. This piece is crafted from silk brocade trimmed with black lace flounces and ivory silk chiffon ruching. This piece is presented alongside a historic LV travel trunk.
Further elements of the exhibition include a separate room dedicated to how Louis Vuitton has shaped the evolution of luggage; a third section of the exhibition hones in on the now ubiquitous Monogram and the final stop brings together Louis Vuitton souvenirs.
