The Manchester-based club is expanding its retail presence in the Big Apple with the opening of a pop-up store at an iconic American location.
Ahead of the Premier League club’s pre-season visit to the US this summer, Manchester City has announced the opening of a new City Store at New York City’s Rockefeller Center. The pop-up store officially opened on 1 June and run until 22 September, offering fans in the US access to the club’s apparel including Puma kit collections, a jersey personalisation station and exclusive merchandise.
The new store is the latest expansion of the club’s global retail offering following the opening of additional City Stores at the Manchester Arndale shopping centre in Manchester, England and Yas Mall in Abu Dhabi as part of the “City Challenge” experience. Manchester City has worked with retail partner Stichd to open and operate all of its stores, also including the City Store at its home field, Etihad Stadium.
“We are very excited to announce the launch of our brand new store in the heart of New York City, marking another huge milestone for our global retail offering,” said Serena Gosling, Director of Integrated Fan Experience and Retail & Licensing at Manchester City. “The US market continues to provide exciting opportunities for Manchester City to grow and we’ve experienced an increase in engagement and support from the region over the past few years across a number of areas, including a 48 per cent uplift in sales from our online City Store this season.”
