The family-owned Greek luxury hospitality brand, Mar-Bella Collection, will open a new hotel, Avali in July next year.
Nestled in the prime beachfront setting of Agios in south-west Corfu, the new hotel is less than 300m from the brand’s established MarBella and Nido hotels. The hotel will open following the meticulous rebuild of an existing property with 76 rooms and suites, catering to couples, friends, solo travellers and free-spirited young families with children over six years old seeking barefoot luxury.
Named Avali – a dialect of Corfu, meaning ‘a small bay’ – the property is set between verdant mountains and a 300m sandy pebbled beach on the sparkling Ionian Sea. It will be home to an expansive infinity pool, tree-acres of lush gardens and a beach bar, which will be available for guests from across the Mar-Bella Collection portfolio to enjoy.
With a strong focus on gastronomy, Avali will offer guests a choice of two restaurant concepts and three bars. At the centre of the hotel will be Zardini Restaurant (Tzardini in Corfiot, meaning ‘small garden’) an all-day Mediterranean-Asian fusion restaurant. Its open kitchen will serve a buffet breakfast that showcasing local ingredients, followed by an a la carte fusion menu of Mediterranean and Asian dishes for lunch and dinner. In the evening, guests can also enjoy dining at Stia Grill Restaurant (meaning ‘fireplace’ in Corfiot), an a la carte grill restaurant.
Guests will also be able to enjoy a cosy lobby bar, a pool bar and Cicada Beach Bar, which will operate as a day-time hangout serving beach snacks before transitioning into an evening destination with cocktails, embodying the laid-back, barefoot luxury vibe of Avali.
