The Venetian eyewear retailer has announced the opening of a further location in Shanghai, adding to its existing locations in Singapore and Hong Kong.
Marcolin has been represented in the Chinese markets for around seven years through a joint venture with the Chinese Ginko Group. The opening of the new branch is part of a broader consolidation strategy for the company as the brand aims to have a direct presence in a number of key markets.
Situated at Plaza 66 in the Jing’an district, the new location is intended to increase organic growth in the Chinese market through the introduction of specific products.
Kevin Cheung, responsible for Marcolin PACA, commented: “China will certainly be one of the few major economic powers that will develop further in the coming years. We are very pleased that our company has decided to invest in this country and that it is opening its own branch despite the difficult times.”
