Master Debonair has now reopened their store in London

The shop on Commercial Street closed in September when its short-term lease ended as the independent specialist considered the space too small to provide the full brand experience. Dedicated to men’s clothing with a focus on tailoring and a nostalgic flair, Master Debonair has recently opened a new 1,000 sq ft location in Chesterfield.

It also operates a larger shop in East Boldon, which was recently merged with a further unit to increase the size to 3,000 sq ft.The east London space occupies 1,100 sq ft, and first opened in November 2018. Master Debonair co-founder Simon Whitaker said the brand’s return to its former site came after a review of the five-year strategy following the Chesterfield opening.

The menswear outfitter is still committed to the larger size format, with plans to open five 3,000 sq ft flagship stores within the next five years. But smaller stores are now also part of the plan. About 20 stores of approximately 1,000 sq ft will be considered to showcase the core suit collection, shirts, shoes, accessories and other products, Whitaker told The Industry.
